After fighting TB I became an women entrepreneur.
My name is Sonabi , I live in Bindapur, Uttam Nagar at New Delhi. We are four members in our family, my mother. Father and one sister. I had severe cough and continues fever, I felt very weak. I went to many doctors for treatment, but my condition was getting worse. Someone informed us about Damien Foundation DOTs center located at Jeevan Park, were they did my Sputum examination and I was diagnosed of TB. When I came to know that I was affected by TB, I felt very sad and don’t know what would happen to my life. I felt if neighbors come to know about my health condition, then they would discriminate me. There is too much stigma about TB. My treatment started and they said it will be for 06 months during the period I was so sick with symptoms like loss of appetite and weakness. My family had made large expenditure earlier for my treatment and daily expenditures. We did not have any source to earn money. Damien Foundation asked me do you have plan to do for your livelihood? So, Itold them that hat I know tailoring work and know how to stich. Damien Foundation supported me with a Sewing Machine. I am now earning around Rs.12000/- per month, with this earnings I bought one more tailoring machine for my sister, she also know stitching. Now we are getting regular work and
family is able to have a regular income and we are living comfortably and now there is no problem. I request you all to kindly support Damien Foundation India Trust, so that they can support more and more patients like me. I am Very much thankful to Damien Foundation for this support.
